Death strikes in many ways and the end of a life is acknowledged in epitaphs, memorial services, odes, monuments, statuary, obituaries and placenames. Some have requested an unconventional burial; for some there is no burial as there is no body. This book looks at deaths with a bit of a story, most with a Southland connection, and in no particular order. The author’s refusal to believe in the supernatural means no ghost stories and no divine intervention… just weird stuff and great physics.
